Hello everyone, To look good to future employee it would be good to show them some work I have done. I thought that work could be e-commerce multi-tier application airline system as I am doing part II of SCJEA. Then I thought why go it alone it would be nice to work with 2 or 3 other geeks on the same project .We would learn a lot about the practical side of J2EE and it will inevitably help with the SCJEA.
I don’t think the application should not use EJB because there is no free EJB hosting on the web.
If anyone would like to join the project, e-mail me on gerald-d@gerald-davis.co.uk

Whoa! Are you suggesting that people might like to help you with your SCEA Part2 project?

No I think he is suggesting people get together and do projects for the purpose of gaining meaningful experience that can be shown to potential employers.
Instead of starting your own group why not join the Dallas SCJD Study Group? The group seems to be pretty popular and does the same type of projects that you are mentioning. Here is the address: http://www.developergroup.org/.

I guess it will be a good idea for those who have
already passed. They could share thier ideas and
build a powerful e-commerce Application.
I am very interested. My email is echris_1974@yahoo.com

I to create a UML diagrams it would be overkill to create a fully working e-commerce application. I remember a geek in this forum giving advice ”stop thinking like a developer and think like and architect ” that is good advice but I don’t want to think like an architect, I wanna think like a developer I wanna be a developer the only reason I taking the SCJEA is so I can add it to my CV( Resume). I wanna be a developer not a roadsweeper developer!, a developer!!!

Hi Gerald,
If you want to get some more practical experience in J2EE technologies then one way is to join some open source project at Sourceforge
which involves writing J2EE applications or create your own opensource project.
Ashish.
Do the next thing next. That’s a pretty good rule. Read the tiny ad, that’s a pretty good rule, too.
