Whizlabs website not generating "key"

Against my better judgement, I went ahead and purchased the "SCEA@Whiz-SCEA
(Sun Certified Enterprise Architect) Certification Test Simulator" - I CAREFULLY followed the instructions for generating the "Unique Customer Key" at the whizlabs website - AND NEVER RECIEVED A KEY. Instead, I receive errors like: "Error: Sorry, you can take only one Unique Customer Key corresponding to one license number and you have already taken the unique customer key.". Not real sure what this means - I have not received a key. I was able to successfully activate a previous purchase from whizlabs - the SCWCD exam prep, so at least I know that I was "smart enough" to follow the instructions for product activation once. Whoever is at "support@whizlabs.com" doesn't seem to be in too much of a hurry to answer my many, many emails to them, either. I was planning to take part I of the SCEA exam Fri - now I wonder if I'll be able to activate the whizlabs software in time for it to be of use in preparation (and I have already been charged for the software). If ANYONE has any information for getting in contact with whizlabs (U.S number?) or their support (which is in Georgia - phone number? Anyone?) - PLEASE reply to this post.

I would have thought, with all the "trolling" that followed the SCEA - whizlabs release announcement(on this site), that I would maybe get a couple of replies (at least to say, "I didn't have any problem with MY wonderful software", or how "prompt and helpful" the whizlabs support was (oh yeah, probably no-one else would have had any problems - so no experience with the missing-in-action whizlabs support... right?) (or is every non-whizlabs-trolling employee using this site smart enough not to buy from these guys? )

Del,
I am sorry that you faced problems with the software. Generally I have found the folks there more than willing to help out.
Obviously there's been a mistake somewhere. I will forward your complaint to the right people.
Sorry for the confusion.

Del,
I just realized that I can't see your email id at Jvaranch. If you could mail it to me at rsanjay@yahoo.com, I will fwd your problem to Whizlabs.
Thanks.

Thanks Sanjay,
I have already sent you my info. If you can help me to resolve this (or put me in touch with someone who can) it would be greatly appreciated.
I took the chance and bought the SCEA-whizlabs software based on recommendations and information from *other members* at THIS site, so I thought it entirely appropriate to post back here with my problems. If I am actually able to use the software prior to taking the SCEA exam (which will be soon - my voucher only has a couple of months left  ) I will be only too happy to relate any (hopefully) positive experiences using the software or in dealing with customer support (if I am so lucky).
Thank you

Dear Del,
We apologize for all the inconvenience caused to you due to some unforeseen server problems at our end.
I've mailed you the required keys.
In case of any problem, you can write to me at pradeep@whizlabs.com
But believe me, the product SCEA@Whiz has been of great to help to many people and being developed by Sanjay and Ian, it has a quality which will have highly positive impact on your preparation for this exam.
Regards and best wishes
Pradeep

Hello Del
It’s really unfortunate that you face such kind of problem. You see, nothing is 100% error free in this earth, isn’t it? I’m sure you know it, you have years of developing experience. It happens 1 in thousand or may be in million. But, take my word, Whizalab support team is really excellent. My experience is pretty good with them. I crashed my SCJP@Whiz, SCWCD@Whiz many times. But they never hesitate to give me the UCK within short time period, like about 5 min., without asking any question. Not only me, I hope we all are lucky dealing with Whizalabs.
And their products, these are really great. SCJP@Whiz and SCWCD@Whiz help me to score 100% and 91% . I’m sure you will realize it after using SCEA@Whizlabs.
As Pradeep said, you got the UCK by this time.
Hope for the best.

I second what Nazmul said. I have good experience with whizlabs. BTW, as you said you had purchased SCWCD exam prep from them and didn't have problem back then, so the problem is not with the site not generating "key", but it was incidental. And now you have Praddep's answer on this one, I hope that pacifies you.

Dear Del,
I am particularly unable to match your experience with my one. I have used 5 whizlabs products so far and each time their service was instant enough to catch with. One paricular problem I may depict here. I mailed whizlabs the wrong key once (small letter instead of capital letter) and the key I got from whizlabs were not working when I tried to install the software. As I was sure of the quality of the software, I triple checked and found my mistake. I mailed whizlabs and they sent me again a new key without questioning whether I was trying to play a trick by installing it in two seperate computers --- believe me, not even once! I myself would have asked twice in this case.
Another thing is that whizlabs teams are renowned for their support service in our online community. You already might have understood it by getting a new key. I hope this is a very individual case that is of course unexpected from users' point of view.
Good luck for your Architect exam!

I recently joined Java Ranch looking for SCEA Part II comments/postings in addition to what is already posted on the Yahoo groups.
I noticed the discussion on WHIZlabs' SCEA practice test and thought I'd comment. I purchased the test less than a week before taking the SCEA Part I test and found it invaluable . The test is hard to study for becuase there is not a lot of consolidated material out there other than Cade/Roberts' book and the Whizlabs SCEA practice tests.
I too had problems getting SCEA@Whiz to work but it was my JRE not the program. In general, I had a very positive experience with their support. I already had a UCK generated for my desktop but couldn't get it to work and even after upgrading to JRE 1.4 it still wouldn't work (something was corrupted). I installed the program on my laptop and emailed support@whizlabs and got a new UCK generated within 4 hours or so of my email. Once I had the new UCK and a working computer, all was fine.

Still no "Key". STILL no reply from whizlabs support. But lots of activity here, I see.
I appreciate everyone's concern.
Maybe one day this will get resolved.

We've already sent you the keys (approx 12 hours back) at your 'attbi' account. I've already forwarded you the mail from support@whizlabs.com (which we've sent earlier) to your 'mirant' account. Also I've responded to your mail sent to my account.
Still, you can find your keys here

All the best for your Friday's exam. BTW, when you pass it with good matks, don't hesiatate to give some credit to whizlab's product if you think it deserves it!

I would like to thank WhizLabs team and, of course, Ian and Sanjay for SCEA@Whiz!
I found SCEA@Whiz very helpful.
With adequate self-study and SCEA@Whiz one will know what to expect on the exam and how to succeed!
Thanks,
Seid

Apparently, there is a bug in the SCEAWhiz installation. I did get the same problem when trying to generate the UCK. However, I got a response back from the Whizlabs support with the UCK within 10 minutes.

Dear Friends,
Thanks a LOT for your wonderful support! Its highly satisfying and encouraging for the whole WHIZlabs Team!!
I assure you best services at all times!
I understand that people have faced some problems/inconveniences with our products, especially in relation to our Key generation process. And based on the feedback, we've taken some initiatives recently, like automating this process of Key generation and launch of Online Version of our products @ WHIZlabs Online Learning Center (currently in BETA stage). The transition from the earlier system takes some time to have a flawless and stable system in place. My apologies for all the inconveniences in the past.
Once again thanks to all of you!
Regards and best wishes
Pradeep

Hey Pradeep, sorry I couldn't respond earlier. Its really sad to hear these un-kind (should I also say baseless??) words, knowing that WHIZlabs products, support and authors like Ian and Sanjay have great respect in this domain of IT Cert Test Preps.
I personally owe a lot to your company, your team and highly worth products.
BTW, your article on SCEA at CerMag is really nice.
And when do you plan to launch the Online versions of your products?
Many thanks and good wishes to you!
JR

I too had a problem with the page that generates the Unique Customer Key falling over, but got a good response from WhizLabs (thanks Pradeep!)
I'm also pretty impressed with SCEA Whiz as a diagnostic tool.

speaking of trolls, Jacques! haha. Just kidding. So, are my comments "baseless", or are all the comments of anyone who reports having trouble with whizlabs products "baseless"?
I can see why most people are posting to this topic. Either they have had problems (even if they were resolved quickly) or they work for/ are affiliated with - whizlabs - and are offering some advice or assistance.....
But its understandable that you would also post here, as you are obviously infatuated with someone who works at whizlabs....
happy trolling.

Hi Del,
I might have reacted strongly but it was not becuase I didn't feel that you should not have raised your voice about the problems you faced. It was becuase the amount of text you have written didn't look appropriate.
Anyways, end of the day you got the problem solved and as I suggested earlier, your focus should be to concentrate on your exam and make use of the product for which you have spent money and time.
Good luck
JR
PS: I haven't yet been infatuated by anyone in this world
