perhabs under Other IBM products,
we could put Sametime under that category, too.
I admit, in Domino Rnext there will be real Java-support. I am testing it. Even I start to believe it. Servlet/JSP support like in Tomcat 3.2(wow). You are laughing??? Well thats real progress. The XML support looks good, too.
In current Release. LotusDomino is - I think - the only platform which does NOT have Java 1.2. 1.1.8 must be enough.
They have lots of "Applets". I still believe that they are sponsored by Microsoft, because they are slower than slow.
The Domino Object Model for Java is not bad, especially for the many people who know Lotus-Script.
Lots of "products" based on Lotus-Domino are programmed with a worse than worst quick-and-dirty programming style.
And I won't going to start to talk of this super-proprietary Notes-Formula language, one of the last survivors of the stoneage of desktop computing. If you ever need a motivation for learning clean design style: Try to change a two-Din-A-4 side snippet of Lotus-Formula-Language code, from a guy who yet not is in the company.
Ben. You have a .de email. There is a quite good Notes and Java forum: http://www.jnotes.de/

Generally, when we see a lot of traffic for a particular topic then we open a new forum for it.
The fastest and most reliable components of any system are those that are not there. Tiny ad:
Java file APIs (DOC, XLS, PDF, and many more)
