Greetings all,
I am a frequent "snoop" on this forum, but rarely contribute. I just passed Part II with 80% - not great. However, I scored perfectly on the sequence diagrams and class diagram (I supplied only two). I lost 20 points on the component diagram. Anyway, for those seeking some direction on this assignment, I would recommend:
"Developing Enterprise Java Applications with J2EE and UML"
by Ahmed and Umrysh
Addison-Wesley Pub Co.
ISBN: 0201738295
This book answered most of my questions and supplied some very relevant examples.
Best of Luck,
Andrew

congratulations. strange that you got a perfect score on the sequence and class diagrams but lost 20 on the component diagram. they should be a little more clear on their grading criteria and give feedback so you know what you did wrong.
can you share some information about your component diagram? did you make it more of a deployment diagram by including the hardware? did you include additional hardware such as a load balancer, firewall.

I agree, this is especially true when you fail.

Well, I provided only a basic component diagram for each tier, and did not supply a deployment diagram at all. In hindsight, I would recommend doing this. I do think they want to see the details of the physical architecture. What I submitted did not address things like load balancing or security in the physical architecture.
Hope this helps -
Andrew
