Hi
Is there a suggested reading for patterns.
How can I get a list of GOF Patterns.
I am reading Patterns in Java by Mark Grand-does it help?
Thanks
Debanjana

As stated in the certification requirements from Sun, the necessary patterns ( at least for part I ) are the ones from GoF. So the Gof book it's probably the best reading on the subject.
You can find at http://www.javaranch.com/scealinks.jsp different notes with brief descriptions of all the patterns from Gof. There's also a link to the James Cooper's book on design patterns.
I don't have any idea about the book you are reading, but you can find a review here :

Good luck,
Billy

Mark Grand's book is good. the volume 1 covers about 21 patterns from the GOF so that should be fine with you. Plus it has UML diagrams and Java code to explain tha patterns.

I have the GOF book. I don't recommended it
unless you know C++ and OMT.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
