How to call a servlet or cgi within a session bean

I would discourage you from calling a servlet (or other web resource) from within a Session Bean, however it is easily done. You just need to make an UrlConnection to the appropriate url and parse the InputStream for the response.
Does this have anything to do with the SCEA exam? If so then I will quickly say that you are getting into too much detail for this exam.
