Starting studying for SCEA part 1

Hi all,
I am starting to prepare for Part 1 of SCEA.
I am a SCJP and a SCWCD. I have worked with Servlets and JSPs. I have not worked with EJB's.
I looked at the SCEA objectives. I have also looked at the links in JavaRanch. They seem too vast. I am currently reading the book EJB by O'Reily. The book for SCEA recommended by everyone (SCEA for J2EE Technologies by Mark Cade) is not available in India.
Could you please suggest some books for studying for UML and EJBS? And what is the path of study I should follow? Right now Im thoroughly confused and dont know where to start from. (
Please dont ask me to look at the Javaranch Links or the SCEA objectives as I have already looked at them. My problem is that I have been in the mode of studying from specific books and so I dont know where to start from.
I have understood that these are the books to study from:
1. SCEA for J2EE technologies
Publisher Prientice Hall
ISBN 0130449164
2. SCEA for J2EE technologies by Paul Allen and Joseph J
Publisher Mc Graw Hill
ISBN 0072226870
3. UML Distilled by M.Fowler
4. Design Patterns by Gamma
5. J2EE Server Side Programming for EJBs by Wrox
6. Mastering EJB (second Edition)
7. Enterprise Java Beans (Third Edition)

I have not been able to get any of these books in an Indian eddition. I would be obliged if anyone from India could help me buy any of these books or some other books suitable for the same.
Regards,
Boney
Wish you all a bright n prosperous new year.

Over the last so many month, many have criticized this book. I have a copy and give it a 5 on a ten scale.
O'Riellys EJB book should keep you busy for many a day.
Read the old posts in this forum and the passed part I announcements in the results forum.
Read Sun's J2EE tutorial and the stuff in the J2SE tutorial about internationalization and security.
I would skip the gang of four book unless you know C++ and OMT.

Hi,
The exam objectives for SCEA are for all the three parts.
I would like to know what are the objectives that part one tests the candidate on.
Other than EJBs what else is the candidate tested on?
Regards and Thanks,
Boney

They weren't very bright, but they were very, very big. Ad contrast:
