what does architect need to do?

architect's role is to product a specification of architecture for application ,but what is the details of what architect do. do they do something related to application requirement, OO analysis,
OO design, and training? do this kind of questions would be meet in scea exam. ?
Please give me help !

Hi Timber,
as I see it:
- requirement analysys: yes, if not allready given by the customer.
- OO analysis: yes
- OO design: no. Marc Cade & Simon Roberts, 2002, p.6: "The designer is concerned with what happens when a user presses a button.[...] The architect is concerned with what happens when ten thousand users press a button"
- training: no, but he may be asked for advise which trainer should be selected.
In part 1 of SCEA exam in OO analysis you need a "read-only understanding" of UML. In part 2 of SCEA exam you have to write UML yourself.
