Hi guys!
How much of UML do I need do know to succeed the SCEA exam?
Does anyone advise me to take the IBM 486 exam first?

Go thru Martin Fowlers book. That is enough.

IMO, being a Websphere Certified Solution Developer or whatever IBM calls it, may be more marketable than SCEA. This will be particularly true if Sun is purchased by another company, which Wall St. is predicting.
Being that you have 483 you only need 158 and 486
to add the IBM cert. At least that's what I see here.
