Hi,
I am just starting on the SCEA part 2, but I'm unsure how detailed to make the class diagram. For example, should the class diagram include classes that form part of 'standard' patterns like Service Controller?
In the Cade book, the class diagram is very minimal. How detailed should this diagram be?

Cade says to keep it simple.

Thanks, I think that's the best approach. I've had a better study of CADE and some of the Rational and IBM documentation and Cade's approach makes a lot more sense now. I notice that the sequence diagrams in Cade infer a detailed design for the system which I hadn't spotted before and that packages can be used to deal with standard designs.
I guess this is a good exam question as it's made me think and do some good research

Would you please state, which Rational and IBM docs have you found?
I also think that the "Cade" aproach is the right one. I've used it myself, but i'm still trying to get some details fixed before i submit the assignment. I could really use some similar examples to compare.
Thanx a lot

Sorry Rudi, I can't find the text I was reading when I wrote this.
What I thought was that Cade is only depicting the business domain classes in his class diagram. It looks like the other classes can be inferred from the sequence and component diagrams.
I'm not as far through the assignment as you I think, but what I was planning to do was to draw out a FULL class diagram and then remove bits that are obvious and don't add any value by being drawn.
