What other Sun certifications are required as prerequisite to Sun Architect Certification.
Some people have told me that to achieve Sun architect Certification it is a requirment that you should first achieve Sun Programmer Certification and then Sun Developer Certification or Sun Web Developer Certification.
Other people have told me no other certifications are required as a prerequisite.
Can anybody clarify ?

Hello, there seems to be no other certification required for Enterprise Architect certification as Sun Website states. But the architect certification consists of a "knowledge-based multiple choice exam, an assignment and essay exam".

The programmer cert was required a year or two ago, I guess. But now they have apparently removed the requirement in order to woo more candidates (who just want the architect certification).

I think that step was nice as there are many experienced system analysts who would not like to go through the syntaxes offered in SCJP.
We better have a check to Paul Allen to make it confirmed.

As far as I know, Sun have never required any of the Programmer or Developer exams for the Architect exam. However, I think anyone trying for SCEA should be able to pass at the Programmer exam at least, if they want to show they have good knowledge of Java.
