Howdy all,
I could use some advice on where to start with the SCEA.
I am an instructor and teach object oriented analysis and design so I am not a new comer to systems development, but I could use a poke in the right (or best in your opinion) direction.
I have a solid grip on most of the technology (Servlets, JSP, JNDI, JMS, etc).
Any advice from folks who have passed the thing would be nice.
Thanks,
Don

I'd say a good starting point is Sun's SCEA booklet that describes the test format and objectives. Get familiar with exactly what you need to know to pass part I. Many veteran programmers have fluked the SCJP test because they ignored the objectives and assumed what they know from their experience is good enough to crack the test. Same is true for SCEA. Make up a study plan based on the stated objectives and aim for clearing Part I.
Your experience and prior knowledge comes very handy for solving Part II. Unlike Part I, the assignment offers ample room for creativity and ingenuity and you will enjoy working on it especially since you have taught OO for a while.
Good luck,
