Just managed to pass SCEA part 2 . Submitted it on Oct 27th, took part3 on Oct 28th. Sun seems to have become very fast. Very shady results though, barely managed to pass with 72%. Big relief anyways. Thanks to javaranchers.

Congratulations !!
A pass is a pass. Could you please share your experiences about the exam like your past J2EE experience, how you prepared and completed the assignment, the time you spent on the assignment etc..

Thanks
Dinesh

I have about 3 yrs of J2EE experience but really messed up my
assignment trying to finish it in less than a week's time as I had
absolutely no time from my work.(total
time put in should be around 7-8 hours). I had to submit a correction
to Sun 2 days after my part 3, and thankfully they accepted it.
I kept the models really simple, just keeping the important classes
but made sure I mentioned them in the Part3.

good job! i should have taken your approach of "just get it done" long ago. i am taking that approach now after suffering through analysis paralysis and trying to make this assignment a bigger learning opportunity than it should be.

Matt,
I was under the same impression as u were. Was thinking of trying to gain a lot of experience by doing this assignment, reading OOAD books, understanding Petstore Design. I am sure it helped to an extent, but was'nt going anywhere by just reading
Today I jumped on to the assignment, came up with a couple of block diagrams to understand the requirements of the system (oh no, i wont submit the block diagrams )
Now trying to map the business model given to a software class diagram etc.. [ Seems like I am going somewhere now ]
I think it is better to start the assignment and refer to other resources as and when required than spending months on the resources before starting the assignment.
Just my opinion though.. not trying to debate with others thoughts.
