When I attended a certification preparation class end of February, I was told by the trainer to hurry up. He said a new version of exam part I (based on J2EE 1.3 or even 1.4) is to be expected around October 2004. He also pointed out that this doesn't affect the assignment and the essay exam, because you may refer to any version of J2EE there, provided you are pointing it out clearly and sticking to it throughout the architecture documentation.

Hi Kathy & other Sun members,
Is there going to be any beta vouchers for SCEA new release ?
Also is there an upgrade exam for those of us who have completed the SCEA ?
I personally feel the current design of SCEA was lacking in that it does not touch the web container , too much focus on the ejb container . Focus on just/ only Gof design patterns and not Sun's own J2EE patterns was a bad idea .
Also emerging concepts like Aspect oriented programming with aspectJ , Model Driven architecture , RUP and other such concept were not explored enough or at all .
Focusing on the type of transactions , ejb in-depth syntax question made it a developer like exam .
thanks
