Use Java-IDL, or RMI-IIOP.

There are times that I met with questions about connecting RMI applications to CORBA systems. I am no good about Java-IDL, in fact, I knew it only when I start SCEA course. What concerns me is that I can not tell which one to pick in some situation like the following.

How will you connect your RMI application to the CORBA system?
AUse Java-IDL
BThis is a standard feature of RMI.
CCan't be done.
DCan only be done by using JNI.
EUse RMI-IIOP

The given answer is A.
Okay, here's the problem. "How will you connect...", RMI-IIOP is a protocol that enables Java applications talk to legacy systems. As far as I know, IDL is a language, How does someone connect two kinds of systems with a "language"?
What even confuses me is the explanation of the question:

Java IDL - If you have been developing CORBA applications using IDL for some time, you will probably want to stay in this environment. Create the interfaces using IDL, and define the client and server applications using the Java programming language to take advantage of its "Write Once, Run Anywhere TM" portability, its highly productive implementation environment, and its very robust platform.

RMI-IIOP - If you are writing most of your new applications using the Java programming language, but need to maintain legacy applications written in other programming languages as well, you will probably want to use Java RMI with its IIOP compiler option.

And I think the explanation is exactly saying that RMI-IIOP is the correct answer.
It would be nice someone can help me out of this.
