The specification says that FBN will retrieve mileage from FFM system.
Do you think FFM will access the same datasource as FBN?
In the BDM there's a table "Mileage", but I'm almost convinced FBN won't touch this table. I think it's not necessary to define an entity bean to deal directly with this table.
What kind of operation FBN will execute in the table Mileage? I supose nothing. This table will be accessed only by FFM, won't it?
Whenever FBN needs to check mileage availability, it will call FFM (through HttpConnection, I guess).

I'd like to know your opinion about this issue.

The interview part says that the same machines are hosting Frequent Flyer. (If I understood right the hardware question.) Therefore we could assume that we can access FF tables since both FBN and FF databases will be running in the same machine? On the other hand, can we be sure that the FF won't get "broken" if access the database directly?

I'm thinking to use DAO component for FF access. That could capsulate either http-connection or direct jdbc-retrieval of data.

Myself personally won't try to access these tables even I can.
I can't say the reason out or quote the prove from assignment because of this ceritification's restriction.
But Tomi and Luciano, if you read the interview part and think about the logic, I'm sure you too will figure out why.
