Break up large sequence diagram

Hi,

I wonder if it's possible to use multiple sequence diagrams for one use case? My sequence diagram would be too large if I stuff everything related to a use case into one diagram. I feel it would be logical to divide the sequence diagram into smaller parts, each represents a request/response cycle, however UML documents seem to indicate that this is not the norm.

The book on UML by - Craig Larman - discusses it . I do not remember the exact page number now.

Thanks for the pointer, so what is his conclusion?

I search the forum for previous posts on this, it seems that people usually just put a UML note which explains the connection between diagrams. I'm taking this route, hope it's OK.
