Hi Parag,
Thanks for your eagerness to help.

I have following questions

1. Is there any way to include/forward to other usecase on the seqence diagram?

2. How do you show stereotypes on sequence diagram? Currently I can assign only predefined stereotypes ( that too there is no visual representation on the object like << >>. Pictorial things do not look ggod). How can I define and show my own stereotypes likes <<entity>>?

3. Current Jude version does not allow export to HTML. Is porting to GIF good enough? Assignment talks of deliverables as HTML only.

I may have more questions when I move to component diagrams!

-- I have used the message arrow with <<include>> message on it.

-- You can edit the stereotype or add new ones, depending on which view u r on.

3. Current Jude version does not allow export to HTML. Is porting to GIF good enough? Assignment talks of deliverables as HTML only.

-- I havent reached that stage yet. But I think delivering gif/jpeg images embedded in html page should be good enough. Maybe, the ones who have passed could shed some light on it.

I may have more questions when I move to component diagrams!

-- I will try to answer them the best i can

Would we lose any marks for non confirming to UML standards?
I think we can includ a note explaining limitations of tool.

Hi Parag,

How are you showing alternate flows in the seqeunce diagrams?
Are you using branch? But return message does not have branching available.

Branching is ok only in very simple situations.
For more complex alternatives one should use fragments. Don't know whether that's UML2 only, but who cares?

I really would like to embed a little picture here, but don't know how!

Definitely.
Additionally, I really doubt that making comments on tool limitations is of any help here, because we are expected to use standards (because they are standards) and not to define our own variants. On the other hand, UML is quite flexible. So, there's probably a detour around tool limitations.

OK. I managed to include use case forwards in sequence diagrams. Here is as follows -

1. Open up a fresh use case diagram.
2. Add single use case. Name it whatever you want. Save.
3. do file -print diagram to JPEG.
4. Open up your seqeunce diagram.
5. Click on image icon on toolbar.
6. Import the image you saved in step 3.
7. Now you can draw normal vertical line ( life) and also horizontal message line.( Remember you can not send actual message as this is dummy one)
8. You can make life line dotted and arrow on message line by right clicking line and setting line type and arrow type.
