In this question above the correct answer I think is option b.

But the exam answer says it is option a.

any one clarify this?

You are right it should be remote ex, EJBException is thrown in case of local clients and remote exception for remote clients

just my two cents...

I think the answer is correct, the EJBException is a system level exception, it is a Runtime exception. so it is right.

The answer should be A.

Whenever there are SystemException encountered, EJBException will be thrown. The container will then based on the type of client (remote or local) to determine whether RemoteException or EJBException will be thrown.
