Hi, How long can one expect to need to prepare for SCEA after doing say the SCJD and SCWCD?

I realize mileage may vary, but thanks for any ballpark ideas...

5 years working in the industry. Took me 125 hours of preperation for part 1 to achieve 89%. Viewed the work as upskilling as opposed to exam study as I kept on finding new subjects to learn about.

Another Architect from work put 3 months into the preperation for 96%.

Depends on the approach you take : if it is just for the exam(Part 1) I am sure 3-4 weekends will do it . But at the end of that kind of preparation you aren't an architect . For a junior architect / designer or team lead who is already exposed to pattern, UML etc , but isn't quite there 2-3 month with a full time job that was me . For developers the best approach is to take the exam (3-5 weekends )then use the assignment as a practical experience .

Overall if you are not an architect , at the end of the exam+assignment you are encouraged to think like one and hence become a system designer .
