I know that, this topic has already been discussed many times before but could not resist asking after seeing the objectives.

Section 9: Messaging
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Identify scenarios that are appropriate to implementation using messaging, EJB, or both.
List benefits of synchronous and asynchronous messaging.
Select scenarios from a list that are appropriate to implementation using synchronous and asynchronous messaging.

Seeing this objective, I get the feeling that, EJB version is 2.0 instead of 1.1, as I have read in many places.

Waiting for your inputs.

Santhosh.

I had the same doubt in my mind, so I asked from Sun Certification team. Here is the response from them - This mail was sent on 9/21/2004.

=====================================================================
Hello,

Thank you for inquiring about our Java Architect Exam. The current
architect
exam was written for J2EE 1.2 which covers EJB 1.1.

http://suned.sun.com/US/certification/java/java_archj2ee.html

Also, for further study material, Sun endorses "Sun Certified Enterprise
Architect for J2EE Technology," by Mark Cade and Simon Roberts.

We will be updating this exam within the next 12 months, however we do
not have
a specific release date at this time. Please stay posted to our
Certification
URL for any updates.

Best of luck,

The Certification Team

If you want you can quote the specification of messaging as well - her address is Monica Green [Monica.Green@Sun.COM]

Hi,
Since Sun dosen't explicitly mention the specific EJB version, you are free to use whichever. Be prepared to document in the assumption section the choice of version if its critical to the design.

Thanks
Sankha

Can any SCEA tell me which version of EJB did you use in your assignment?
Thanks in advance!

I used EJB 2.0 for the assignment. I however, mentioned it in bold in the assumption section.

Thanks

Current exam is based on version 1.1 and therefore you will not have to answer questions about EJB2.0. You are free to use 2.0 features in your assignment, but make sure you justify your decision in the documentation.
