Someone please help me with this.

I have been using TogetherCC for my part II assignment but I have two problems. I can't run it from Home because it needs to connect to the licence server and it keeps crashing on me recently. So I downloaded Jude (heard some good feedbacks here). But I can't run it because it needs jdk 1.4.

I have both jdk 1.3 and 1.4 on my box. My java_home and path are set for 1.4. But if I type "java -version" at DOS prompt, it says 1.3. Something is controlling which jdk (or jre) to load at Windows startup (I have win 2k). How do I locate and change that setting?

This is something I have been wondering for a while for other reasons. But now I can't escape and have to find a solution.

Thanks, folks.

I solved my original problem with Jude. The jude.bat file allows me to choose the jdk. (what a brilliant design!)

I did some search on the web but still couldn't find an answer to my question about changing the default jre that's loaded at Windows startup.

Would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to do that.

There should be some preferences in 'Control Panel', like 'JRE' or something like that. Some time ago I had 2 JDKs installed, and it was some icon in control panel to switch JRE. Right now I have only 1 JDK installed, so can not say more precisely.

regards,
MZ

P.S. Or it had name "Java Plug-in", or something...

P.P.S. I may be wrong
