QUESTION :
React: a signed applet can access all resources on a computer

POSSIBLE ANSWERS:
* True
* False
* True in Java 1.1 (CORRECT)
* True starting from Java2 (=1.2)

SOLUTION:
With java 1.1, the concept of a signed JAR was introduced. However, if the signed JAR was trusted, it was granted access to all system resources. This is no longer true as of Java2 (1.2)

---
I am not clear on the solution. Did they remove the feature introduced in 1.1 during 1.2?

Can anyone explain, please?

Thanks,

Prasad

Hi Prasad,

Pls refer to this url:

http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/security1.2/overview/index.html

It gives good explanation on security over the evolution of JDK1.0 to JDK1.2. In JDK1.2, the security has been further improved and restricted by a security policy.
