Hi Guys,

"A malicious hacker has created an applet to cause a denial of service style attack, by sending packets from the client machine to a 'target' machine (different from the host machine). Which of he following statements regarding this are true? (Choose 1)"
a)This will work as expected
b)This cannot be carried out by an applet
c)This will only work if the applet is signed
d)This may work but it depends on the configuration of the users browser.

My answer = c
Real Answer = B.

But I thought an applet could pretty much perform like local code if it had been signed?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Dom

Dom,

You are right.

Even though it is not always clear to which JDK the questions refer, this question mentions a signed applet, which means that we are referring to at least JDK 1.1. In JDK 1.1, C is definitely right.
