Changing a Paid itinerary?

Folks,
I find this to be a disputed issue. Can a customer change an itinerary after it has been paid? The facts to keep in mind are,

1. after payment, tickets will be generated, and probably the customer can take print-outs.

2. there is no mention of returning the price differential to the customer if the changed itinerary is of lower cost than the original one.

3. If after changing the paid itinerary, the customer just saves it in the database, and does not pay for the changed itinerary (suppose till the actual journey date), do we need to return the money for the entire itinerary?

I guess the easy way out is to allow modification to unpaid itineraries only. But will that not put a limitation on the capabilities of the solution?
Anybody has got a different idea in this?

Thanks..

Hi Goutam,

Since there is no mention how to handle it, I will go for assumptions. With the help of my assumptions, I will handle the Use Case 'Change Itinerary'.

I do not have sent my solutions to Sun. So I do not know, if taking assumptions will work.

I hope there will be some answers of passed guys.

Greetings
Lucy

Friends,
Anybody working on part 2, please share some of your thoughts.

Is it safe to assume that only unpaid itineraries can be changed?

If we do not assume this, then the complexity grows manyfold.

waiting to hear from u people.

You can state that in your assumptions document.
