I'm working on part 2 of the architect exam.
How did you solve persistance? Is it a must to use entity Beans to pass the exam, or can I use DAO classes with JDBC?
Any one passed the exam wihout using entity beans?

Thanks for any comments on this.

Hi Magnus,

from what I understand a lot of people pass with DAO only, but also with a CMP based solutions. So I guess it is up to you what to use - as long as it 's J2EE compliant. Do you have any preference?

Thanks for reply,

Well, if I was to build this irl I would'nt use Entity Beans, but in this case I'm more concerned of pleasing the people judging my exam. But if it's ok to use DAO, I'll probably go for that.

some coarse-grained objects might be defined as Entity Beans, where as other fine-grained ones only as plain objects.
