1) What's the relationship between Maintainability and number of tiers in the J2EE application?

2) What's the relationship between Manageability and number of tiers in the J2EE application?

Hello,
1) Maintainability: Ability to change the part of system or a code without affecting other parts thereof: Improves as (N) is larger (But considerably lower to 3-4).

2) Managability: Ability to moniter the parts and system as a whole to ensure the continued health of a system. Decreases as (N) is larger because more parts to monitor, ensure and integration of all this as a complete system.

Hey ranchers, please comment on this, modify my understanding if necessary.
