I will be taking SCEA part I shortly.

Would like to know whether they will ask ask questions wherein candidate should keyin answeres as in SCJP. If so, what kind of answeres are expected? One word or up to one sentence? Pls clarify.

Also, I'm taking some online exams to practice myself better. There are some questions as mentioned by Vishal in one of the previous threds that there are some J2EE Pattern related questions. Do we need to prepare for that as well? I prepared Desing Patters by GOF. Is it enough. Kindly asnwer these queries at the earliest as i need to prepare before taking exam.

Also, pls keep posted anything that's wroth informing so that during my study revision, i can follo them.

Thanks in advance!!
Laxmi

First, Laxmi, you might want to take a gander at the naming policy they have here at JavaRanch - one of the sheriffs will probably say something to you soon enough about you needing to change your username to meet the policy. That said...

I don't recall having any fill-in questions when I took the SCEA Part I (though that was nearly a year ago). I wouldn't worry about them cropping up if I were you, but if you know your stuff, it shouldn't be a big concern even if one does.

By and large, the Part I exam concentrates on Java EE technologies and basic concepts more than the design patterns and associated materials. However, there is a section on Design Patterns on the listing of topics that you need to be aware of (you did look at the list of topics, right?), so I'd get up to speed on that.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the info Theodore. I'm using my real name so .... fulfilling java ranch's naming policy.

I didn't get what do mean by 'so I'd get up to speed on that' in your reply. Do you want me to read J2EE Design patterns as well? Pls clarify.

Thanks,
Laxmi

Laxmi,
The sheriffs insist on using both the real first name and real last name. We all know that you are using the real first name but it would be good if you use your last name too. Couple of months ago I was just using the first name Santosh and I was asked by the sheriff to use both first name and the last name.

Best of luck for your exam.

Regards
Santosh
