hi folks,
i know issue and question of new version of scea is repeating - just wanted to know if anyone has any 'inside' information? Also as I know current version of scea is still ejb 1.2 and i just see no point in getting certified with that. there are huge changes in new specs, not to mention a whole new segment of non-ejb technologies.
besides i'm scjp and scbcd and would love to go for scea but not with this scope of exam objectives. getting scea now seems to me as waste of time - i'd rather invest that time into somethign else. any ideas? your opinion?
thx, Milan

Hi Milan,

The main part of the exam, i.e. part 2 allows you to use any version of J2EE, that is any version that is current, at the moment it is 1.4 which means you can use any 1.4 feature in the practical exam.

The only part that has specific questions about previous versions is the first part, but its not a big deal as in my opinion as the material covered in part 1 are mainly fundamental issues of J2EE programming which won't change much if updated. The EJB part will change but in implementation not much in terms of architecture so for this certification which is all about architecting and not implementing it is not much of an issue.

That is my opinion anyway!

Regards,

James.
