I cleared SCEA Part I with 87% today.
When the test was in progress, I was nervous about whether I was going to fail. Probably for lack of experience in the field, it took me quite a while to think over the scenario questions. This is quite different from the other certificates I've got. But I have been so excited and happy with the score!
What follows is my Section Analysis:
-------------------------------------
Concepts---------------83%
Common Architectures---66%
Legacy Connectivity----60%
EJB--------------------100%
EJB Container Model----100%
Protocol---------------100%
Applicability of J2EE--100%
Design Patterns--------100%
Messaging--------------100%
Internationalization---100%
Security---------------50%
-------------------------------------
After the exam, I have to say I HATE the Paul Allen book, which brought my to sleep several times and frustrate me a lot. I would feel better even with the free common notes from the yahoo web site.

Congratulations Scott

I have my part 1 exam date on monday  . What 2-3 mock exam sites do you recommend?

I did those from Mark Cade's book and and am now doing http://www.javaqueries.com/ which has 6 mock exams with a very nice and exam like web based user interface.

I couldn't start the one from http://www.exforsys.com/ and found that http://www.harishramchandani.com/ is an exact copy of the first mock exam from JavaQueries .

Which one do you recommend?

Regards,
Darya

The only mock exam I had took before sitting the Part I wasn also from the yahoo web site, named something like "Practice Questions." It includes about 288 questions and is said to be extracted from the Whizlab simulator. But I'm not sure of that. But what I can be sure of is that the real Part I exam is easier than the mock exam. So, don't get frustrated just by the mock exams and be sure to have faith in yourself.

Hi Darya,

I found all mock exams are the same as the Q&A found at:

http://www.geocities.com/subra_73/SCEA_Practice_Questions.htm

The added benefit is you can find excellent explanations to answers.

Regards,
Dhanan.
