What does it mean

' how well it supports both web clients and application clients'

Am i suppose to provide standalone application based interface as well as web interface to the application?

Pls help me in understanding the above sentence.

Yes . that's it.

Basically Sun wants to check how well you can architect this solution for two different types of client.

In the SCEA context, "Application Client" can be any client connecting to the EJB tier dirrectly without a web Tier.

You can have an architure as mentioned below:

Swing Client ------------> EJB Tier -> EIS Tier

You can also have a web Tier which provides the web interface as mentioned below:

Web Browser -> Web Tier -> EJB Tier -> EIS Tier

So you can provide web interface and application interface with the same EJB tier and EIS tier.
