Hi guyz,

I d like to know how many people have seen a notable improvement in their professional career after getting certified SCEA.
I mean, an improvement can be : change job with higher wage , same job but with an extra $ on existing wage ...

It would be fun to see if actually , we can gain sthg from our efforts.

thanks for participating.

tery

I'd say "ask me in a few weeks" - I only come up for salary review once a year and that's at the beginning of the new calendar year.

I only say that because I'm not looking for another job - I took the SCEA for my own personal advancement, not because I thought it would help me around the office. I'm seeing that folks with SCEA make more in my area (at least according to the salary surveys), but as I said, I'll let you know...

more money?

indirectly, probably yes

but no one will pay you month per month, for the reason that you are scea, or any certification, for that matter.

you get paid for what you deliver

I agree with Jesus with the caveat that there are quite a few jobs (on dice etc.) that you can't even get without SCEA so I would extrapolate from that that there is more "access" to employers but it remains to be seen if salary is impacted.

In my profession of consulting (organized via a company that pays me full-time), I would say it definitely matters and makes me more money because it contributes to my next promotion greatly...

For others in industry, I would think it matters less because they are not the "product" of the company but rather a cost.

All in all, I think one of the greatest advantages to having the cert is that your "employability" index is much higher than someone who hasn't proveen themselves this way.

Anyways, my 2 cents for what it's worth...
