Equipment - Represents type of aircraft whether boeing, jet etc, it's seating capacity, manufacturer, model number etc. Each flight belongs to one type of equipment.

Flight - Flight is an air transportation between two cities. Each flight is associated with exactly one segment and each flight has one equipment which represents type of aircraft, it's seating capacity etc.

Hope this info helps.

It's based on how you define flight from nthe customer point of view and an architect's point of view.

As far as customer is concerned, flight is the air transportation between origin and destination.

From an architect's point of view, flight is the air transportation between two points. Since it is defined this way, searching flights or segments means one and the same. Internally you will search for segments that fulfills the journey between origin and destination.
