Would i be right in thinking that Cade's design, although he doesn't state this, is built around client side session state management?

He doesn't use any stateful beans and seems to pass back a lot of stuff from the EJB tier to the web tier.

i've just realised the answer, i was wrong.

i've just realised what the ShoppingCart is for!

presumably, a browser held sessionId is use to hook up to the right session in the web tier.

in the case of an application client, i guess you maintain your session by virtue of having a jvm reference to a session bean.

come on guys, share your knowledge. nobody answers my posts.
