Hi,

The SL-425 does not add too much for the certification. It handle more high level things like risk management, good practices and software process. It is "nice to have", not a must, but for the certification it doesn't add anything.

The SL500 I don't know, but my opinion is that you don't need to pay for a course (just if the company that you work for pays them for you), just buy some good books.

Regards
Sam

Yes, Company asked me to pick one or the other. ie why I wanted to know SL-500 design pattern is beter than SL-425 : Srchitecting J2EE applications.

Evening,
Having done both 425 and 500 I would recommend 500 if you are already pretty au fait with j2ee and architecture in general. 500 delves into the core j2ee patterns and attempts to provides real world examples of their application. 425 I think could be covered by searching the Internet for a more generalist view of j2ee architecture and the primary concerns regarding solution architecture.

If your company has the loot go for both )
