Good Day,

The J2EE pattern catalog shows the Front Controller in front of the View Helper which represents the JSP/Servlet. In Cade's diagrams the JSPs are in front of the controller. So, I'm a bit confused about the order of JSPs and the controller.

Any thoughts?

Regards,
Dan

Hi Dan,

What you're probably referring to is the J2EE pattern catalog on one side and the sequence diagrams depicted in Cade's book on the other side.

Here is my perspective: Look at the sequence diagram, say for the Front controller pattern. The first one on left would be the "Client". The JSP's in Cade's sequence diagrams actually stand for that. On submission, they present the data to the controller for processing.
