When should i use realize relationship in use case? i have a scenario where , to view details i should have done the insertion operation atleast once. what is the relationship that i should use between insertion and view?

Sounds to me that you're going into far too much detail.

Worst case, write the basic course of action assuming that there is one or more things to view, and then add an alternate course where there is nothing to view.

Realizes is typically used between one or more design artifacts (e.g. a sequence diagram) and a use case. In other words, in this case it is pretty much a traceability issue.
