Whatz the difference between Architeture Layers and Tiers. They look same to me.

Layer : Software + Hardware (Ex. Upper Layer(web server/appln server) -->Lower Layer(operating system)-->Hardware Layer)
Tier : Logical grouping of application components (Ex. Presentation Tier --> Business Logic Tier-->Integration Tier--> EIS Tier)
