Hi All,

I am new to Software Design. I am doing a project to create an employee information system. I would appreciate some good inputs from experienced people here to help me design this web based software.

I plan to use Struts,JSP, Servlets with Oracle 8i database for this project.

Could any one here provide some useful tips on how to design this project?

The features I want to implement is just the basics and then continuously keep enhancing the features..
like...

.Login using username and password.
.Check personal details.
.Update personal information(name,experience etc).

Thanks and Regards

Ayub

--> First design the screens and
--> list down the functionalities and non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, etc)
-->Choose your budget and decide the infrastructure components (JBoss, Tomcat, MySQL, etc)
-->Select the design patterns flow from presentation to database based on your functional and non-functional needs and start realize the functionalities.

If you decided to use Struts framework with EJB the flow goes like this:
JSP-> Struts Action-> Struts Controller-> Session Faade-> Composite Entity /DAO

Without EJB
JSP-> Struts Action-> Struts Controller-> Faade-> DAO
