Phase 2 assumptions

Hi,

I have passed phase 1 and I am a little bit confuse with some messages in the forum.

First: as far as I understand, the Current Travel System will not be replaced, but will continue to exist. If the system was to be replaced, then some other use cases are missing and the domain model is not reflecting the whole application. For example: flight update, price update, aircraft update, ticket cancelation, ticket reissue etc. I have been working in the air transportation industry for some time and I know that these use cases are very complex.

So, why assume that the legacy system will be totally replaced? Why not integrate a new interface with it? If this is the case, we can use Screen scraping or JCA.

Am I right or not? Does anyone think alike?

Other point is the client for the travel agents... why not use the same web client? We can separate a pool of mainframe connections depending on the users role (isCallerInRole).

Thanks

No, the documentation says it will be replaced, except one part of the system.

yes, it doesn't reflect whole application otherwise it would be too big for the assignment.

The documentation says that they will use java application. It's one of the rating criteria - how well your solution will support both types of clients.

Well, the text states that the interface will be replaced, but no other functions, like: flight creation and others. So, I am pretty much convinced that a JCA adapter will be needed here.
