Hi all,

I have been thinking about taking the exam (part I) and borrowed a copy of Mark Cade and Simon Roberts book (Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for J2ee Technology Study Guide) from a friend. I have read the book, well the first 7 chapters and done a couple of mocks available on the web.

What confuses me is that the book recieved high praise on Amazon and 7 horseshoes here yet the style of questions it asks is much different from some of the mock exams out there.

So are the mock exams (for example Harish Ramchandani's Mock Exam for part 1) really close to the real exam or is what is in 'Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for J2ee Technology Study Guide' closer. If I can answer the questions in the book am I ready ?

Hi,

I have answered the Mark Cades book questions but I also used teh Whizlabs simulator, which is very close to the actual exam.

Thanks for that Cleuton. I guessed it was probably not enough on its own, but wanted to hear whether others who had done the exam thought it was.

Cade's book as a starter is good, but that is not enough. In IMO, Mock exams are not close to the real one (like other certifications), but that helps you to realize where you are weak. Once you reach 80-85% in mock exams, you are ready for the real exams. I was around 80-85 in mock exams and got 87% in part 1.
