I am wondering :
1. how many person in this world who gets SCEA certificate ?
2. how many person in this world who gets 8 java certificates ?
3. how many person in this world who gets 7 java certificates ?
4. how many person in this world who gets 6 java certificates ?
5. how many person in this world who gets 5 java certificates ?
6. how many person in this world who gets 4 java certificates ?
7. how many person in this world who gets 3 java certificates ?
8. how many person in this world who gets 2 java certificates ?
9. how many person in this world who gets 1 java certificate ?
10. how is the probability to get each java certificate ?
total person who passed the exam in specific field / total person who take the exam in specific field

I am wondering that SUN announces this statistical information. By doing this, we can know in which level we are in and enhance competitiveness especially on java technology

Hi Natalius,
I believe it is confidential, and also believe the number of SCEA in this world would be between half and one million.

I don't think so. By JavaOne 2005 numbers we have 4,5 million java developers in the world.
I think SCEA would be a very small part of it. Much less than 50.000.
For comparasion, Microsoft premier certification MCSD.NET has 20,582 certified professionals by March/2006.

I think to have public numbers help us a lot to get the certifications more valued by the companies. Sun should do it like Microsoft.

Hi Fabiano,
Maybe the number of SCEA I estimated is not correct, but the number of SCEA in the earth IS confidential from Sun.

I would think that Sun would advertiste this fact. After all, part of choosing any platform is how easy it will be to support that platform. I mean, the greatest programming language ever could be released tomorrow, but if nobody knows how to use it, or if it costs a million bucks to hire a developer, than nobody would use it.

Being able to say "there are 500,000 architects out there ready to build your solution" is sorta a feather in the cap.

Just my take.
