Hello Ranchers,

I'd like to share with you that I passed SCEA I today and I had a hard time during the exam! I've taken SCJP, SCWCD and SCBCD and I can tell you, I found SCEA Part I much harder. The scenarios are not trivial and many questions are really tricky. I marked 10 questions for review, and I finished answering all 48 q 15 min before the time expires, could not review all them, but at the end I answered 39 correctly out of 48 - not too bad :-)

To prepare I used the following material:

HF Design Patterns
UML Distilled
Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for J2EE Technology Study Guide, by Mark Cade
Whizlabs mocks

They are all great material, I would like to point to be carefull with Whizlabs:

They help a lot, but they might confuse you - The exam concerns EJB 1.1, not 2.0 - there are many questions in whizlabs concerning EJB 2.0 and also there are many questions that present a confusing scenario, wrong answers and also confusing choice for answers. But it`s really a definitive asset for getting certified. It helps you despite of this issues.

Hope that it helps.

Regards

Congratulations Aurelio!
I'm with you, I took the 1st exam and scored 83%, but the exam was a sweat/suffering exercise for me, I found it really really tough compared to the SCJA, SCJP & SCWCD exams I took earlier this year. My preparation was similar than yours, but I used the EPractize labs, that also comes with some confusing information.
My conclusion was that real (and vast) experience is the best preparation posible to take the exam.
Good luck for part II
Best regards

Hey Marx,

True, if I had 10 years experience on that I would get 100% - But I think that this is not for those ones who has a great background experience. People who really cram and are willing to learn also can get certified and learn how to be an architect!

Congrats for your score! Are you corrently preparing for part II?

Yeah, actually I'm waiting for the assignment.
I bought the epractize labs part II & III, and though it was not so good for part I, it seems to be ok for part II and III. I'm a little disoriented about part II, so I have no rush to present it.
Good luck again!
