1. Does the new system modify the mileage in the FFS?
In my opinion, as a independent system, the FFS will modify the data itself. So the new system just connect to it and retrieve the customers mileage account status. Is that right?

2. In the interview, it states "Our travel agents Java application must be able to access the system and we want our customers to have access through the Internet". Does this mean that the travel agents application must connect to FFS directly?
Maybe I can set up a BusinessDelegate for web clients and travel agents to access the FFS, could I?

1. I think milage has to be reduced, and the BBW application (=BookByWeb application) should trigger that in a transactional manner.
I am wondering how to interface to the mileage app? Maybe JNI? Or maybe screen scraper?

Regarding (2), I would think, your service layer(SLSB) will be accessed by both the web and the gui clients. It would be ideal to distribute the same business delegate for that particular service to both the clients.

Neither of the clients should directly talk to FFS, instead they should to go FFS via FBN. By FBN, i mean the serfice layer you are to develop as part of the assignment.
