This question goes to the ones who already cleared part I: how did your simulators' scores compared to the score obtained in the real exam? Which simulators did you use?

Your feedback is much appreciated.

Regards,
Filipe

Hello Filipe,

Whizlabs's SCEA exam simulator is the one I've chosen for studying before clearing part I. IMO it's harder than the real exam, since its questions are way more detailed.

Good luck!

Ditto the last guy. I used Whizlabs last week. Was probably averaging 75% after completing all their mocks. I scored 91% in the real thing. Their summary notes were useful, though not complete. Their mock questions were generally pretty close to the real thing in terms of style and applicable content. Good luck!

I've used free Exforsys's mock exam
http://www.exforsys.com/certification/sun-certification/scea-for-j2ee-technology.html

Question are pretty close to the real exam. Some of them even identical.

I have found the Whizlabs products to be more difficult than the real exam.

Oh one more comment on SCEA practice exam from whizlab. I "felt" (intuition) that something was not up to snuff. It just seemed to easy. I decided to also use whizlabs IBM 484 practice exam. I am glad I did. That product helped cement various concepts into my brain better than the SCEA product.

I just passed the exam and would like to share my scores so others can use it as a guide. I prepared for this exam on my free time after work, and believe I spent roughly 30h total on it - definitely not much.

For this certification I read Cade's book and Whizlabs Simulator. On that simulator my scores varied a LOT, from 52% (on the first Diagnostic) to the drastically improved 77% (on the Final simulation) - that was the result of studying the areas I had the least work experience (about 3 1/2 years w/ J2EE) or most difficult.

My exam score was 79%, and I'm very pleased with the result as I had a very tight schedule to prepare for it.

I would like to thank all the help from JavaRanch users during this exam's preparation!
