I was reading core j2ee patterns. I did not understand the difference between the two. They seem to be overlapping on the same functionality. Can some one please clarify.

Business delegate is a client-side proxy for server-side business component (for example EJB). Client have a ilussion that he contacts business component directly, becouse business delegate has the same interface as business component. Business delegate is responsible for remote communication with business component and remote exeption handling. He can use service locator to locate business component.

Session facade is a server-side business component which hides many smaller business components (remote communication consts time).
