Congratulations Dude!!!

I have few questions:

1. Is Head First EJB book is OK for preparing for EJB part?

2. Does Mark Cade book covers all the Sections of Part 1 exam?

3. How much time it takes you to prepare for the exam and how many years of experience you have in JAVA/J2EE?

Thanks in Advance.

Hey Prabhu,

Hope below answers may be helpful for you.

1.Is Head First EJB book is OK for preparing for EJB part?

I didnt get a chance to study the HF- EJB book. However I can
defiantly say that ED Roman is a very good book.

2.Does Mark Cade book covers all the Sections of Part 1 exam?

Not really. However it may give you a very good start for the
certification.

3.How much time it takes you to prepare for the exam and how many
years of experience you have in JAVA/J2EE?

I have 7 years of experience. I am lucky enough to get the
opportunity to work on very good J2EE financial projects. I have
been working as a J2ee Architect since last 2Years.

Hey Gopesh..

Congrats!!!

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.
How much time did you took for the preparation?
Do you have any prior experience in designing.
Even I want to give the exam, but I dont have any prior experience in designing. Can you please suggest me any thing on this.

Cheers,
Parvathi

Hi Parvathi,

It took me around 4 months of preparation for the exam. I have good experience in designing. However I can defiantly say that it is not mandatory for the exam. You can gain similar knowledge by study good books and apply that knowledge into mock exams.

I dont have much idea on whizlab exam. However I can defiantly say that you need real life experience or equivalent book knowledge to earn good score.

Ciao Guillermo

I did use the Whizlab for the SCEA part 1 and I found it pretty useful. I decided to buy (well, get my company to buy it for me.. ) because I found it extremely useful for SCJP and SCWCD.
However for SCEA part 1 it is possible to do without it (I think) if you experience traverses the different aspects and topics required.
Personally my EJB experience wasn't great, same for legacy connectivity/applet security... so for those it really helped me.

Good luck

Beppe
