I had cleared SCEA -1 with 93% on Saturday.

First I would like to thank to JavaRanchers for help I found on this forum.

To prepare for exam I used:
- Cade's book
- IBM Java certification success, Part 4: SCEA
- Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software (GoF)
- UML Distilled
- Sun's tutorial about i18n
- http://www.bm-one.com/Se/scea1.html
- http://www.moelholm.com

Looking forward for similar help on Part -2 & 3

I think you can write SCEA even you are not SCJP, it depends on the kind of experince you have. If you already had a good experince as an Architect on J2ee application and having good knowledge of tools like UML and Design pattern then you can easily go for it.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
