Hi, because the security in java could be declarative it's point less to include it in the designs right?

I mean, if you create a good n-tier application, using the features of JEE like sessionbeans, servlets, etc, I don't need an authorization manager in my application, do I?

I was reading some architecture books, and all of them talk about security as an important feature, but non of the diagrams include anything about that.

btw, I'm not providing information on any point of the beta exam, this is just an open question about the usability of diagrams, and the best detail level of them.

Heh...With every question or comment I post, I think about the same thing - am I being too specific about the exam???

I can drum up some good sequence diagrams that show what happens when a user logs onto a Servlet and has their credentials passed from layer to layer. But looking at Mark Cade's SCEA certification book, I didn't see any security realated components specifically mentioned on any diagrams. So, I'm assuming that since you may have a servlet, or a SLSB, it would be implied that these components will be leveraging the declarative security features built into the JEE 5 specification.

Just comment about your security approach in assumptions document. I suggest you JAAS.

Excellent idea, I will put it as an assumption.

Thanks for reply.
