Score sheet SCEA5 Beta

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
I received my score sheet for the beta yesterday. Which means that passing part 1 beta is equivalent to passing scea5 part final. (I have also had this confirmed by the people at SunBeta@prometric).

Anyway I'm pretty satisfied with the score, but I was suprissed that I didn't score more than 50% on patterns (the only area where I scored below the passing score) as it is one of the areas where I consider myself more than capable. I guess it might suggest that there weren't that many patterns questions and that I was unlucky with the questions that were selected.

That's really great to know.

You have confused us.
What is the use of Part2 and 3 marks then ?

I suspect that "scea 5 part final" is missing the "I", and that the original poster meant that passing Part I on the beta will count as having passed Part I on the final version.

I have not received any score sheet yet.
According to the Cert Manager website, it says :

Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5 (310-052}

You are of course right! What I meant to say is that part 1 beta is will count as part 1 final

Just to be clear: I haven't received the score for part 2/3 yet, only for part 1. I got 75% on part one, I submitted part 2 aroundt the first of December and did part 3 one week later.

Hi everybody.
Can anybody confirm this information ? I had passed the first part (77%) and received the emails for part 2 and 3 of the beta.
Unfortunately I had no time to do the assignment... but it looks like I will have more time with the real assignment if this information is confirmed.
Thank you.

Mihai,
If you want official confirmation you should ask Evelyn from Sun.

If you're just looking for confirmation about the letter from Prometric (which has been embossed with a Prometric seal), I can tell you that the letter I got says "Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5" and there is no mention of the beta, which makes me think I've officially completed SCEA 5 Part I . So even if I fail the Part II of the beta, I don't have to start completely over from scratch. At least, that's my opinion.

Well I was looking for the not so official confirmation....
I know I also received something from abroad(my parents told me so) but I cannot see what it is until Friday. It would be a nice Christmas present .
Thank you.

Burk, why are you "waiting on results of Part II and preparing for Part III" as I can read on your signature?
If you have submitted the beta assignment, you have to do the part III as soon as possible, no later than December 26th 2007. As I can read on my assignment pdf, "You will receive a single score for parts 2 and 3".

or am I in a mistake?

Hi Antonio,

You are not mistaken.

You must take the part III exam before anyone will even look at your part II assignment. So if you do not do part III then all the work on part II will be wasted.

Once they have part III answers, they will compare them with the assignment submitted in part II, and (assuming the answers match the assignment) they will mark part II.

Regards, Andrew

I received it too.
It's posted on DEC 06 2007 from USA, and I received it on DEC 23 in Beijing China.

Antonio,

Evidently our "signature" (the text at the end of a message) isn't updated on older messages.

I took Part III on the 19th, but thanks for the warning anyway.

Moved to a new house last December. Can't seem to update my profile (address) from Prometric website for the past few days.

[Been getting internal server errors]

I guess the only way for me to see the detailed results is to go back to our old place and search there!
